Your current company not meeting your needs?

Not getting the best equipment, not enough miles, or they simply lack integrity?
Give Con-way Truckload a call!

Not every company is a fit for every driver, we all know that, but here are the facts from my experience with them. You can decide for yourself if it's worth a phone call or an email.

Pay: $0.32 to start with six months OTR experience. That's more than most companies pay you for three years of driving. Best part is that within a year it rises from $.32 to $.37. And nobody pays you faster. Whatever miles you have been dispatched up until Saturday midnight, you get paid for that next Friday -you don't have to have driven them by Saturday- just dispatched.

One last thing about pay, they get it right every time. Don't know about you, but it's important to me to know that even if I'm in the middle of nowhere New Mexico, my paycheck is going to be fine. A lot of us out here live by two main rules with a company: don't mess with my home time or my paycheck. Let me tell you that Con-way meets and exceeds my expectations on both counts. Talking of which.... Time off!

One day off for every seven days out! The absolute best thing about Con-way's time off is that it is bankable. There are other really cool things about it too, like not being sent home under a load, time off not starting until the day after you get home, and not having to report for work again until the day after your last day off! But I really like the "bankability" of Con-way's time off. Whereas other companies make you start a fresh each time you leave the house, Con-way does it differently. If you've earned four days off, but only take three days at the house, that day gets rolled over. In other words you get to keep it "in the bank" so to speak to use whenever you want. Great for extended home visits

Integrity: In the three years I have been with Con-way I have never once been lied to- from recruiting to dispatch to safety, not once. It makes a big difference.

Equipment: Top notch! Kenworth 660's and International Pro Stars. All with satellite radio and man are those Pro Stars nice on the inside!

Miles: What can I tell you? I average about 12,000 a month. But what I've found over the years is that it doesn't really matter what the recruiters tell you what you'll get. It's pretty much up to the driver at the end of the day. Do you want to sit around or do you want to run? It's up to you. But if you want miles, Con-way has them.
